Our milestones, impacts, and next priorities

Te Karu o Te Ika Pōari Hauora has been operating for four years, after forming in 2022. During this time, we’ve set ourselves up as an organisation, responding to health reforms and change along the way, and have gathered baseline information and put systems in place to lay groundwork for the next stage.

This includes gathering Whānau Voice to understand the top hauora priorities for Wairarapa whānau, setting up the systems to track how the healthcare system is performing for whānau Māori, and forming the Te Ikaroa Central Regions partnership with other Iwi-Māori Partnership Boards in lower Te Ika-a-Māui.
